First Aid For Mental Health
When responding to work life stressors or challenging life events, people can often find themselves dealing with different types of pressures by way of negative coping strategies.
Whether you are an employee, supervisor, manager or simply looking to enhance your own knowledge and understanding of various mental health conditions then this course will be of benefit to you and your organisation.
As well as covering all topics discussed on the Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course, this Level 5 Award also takes a deep dive into the effects of substance misuse and offers advice on how to support those who are using drugs and alcohol as a way of coping.
Other areas of discussion include the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which explains how employers can implement effective workplace strategies to minimise risk and also consider how we can play an active role in fostering a positive mental health culture within an organisation.
Duration
This duration of the course is 6 hours and should be delivered across one day. Should you wish to split the course down across two or three days then please contact us and we will be as flexible as we can to meet your organisation’s needs.
Please note that the course must be completed within 21 days of the first session taking place.

Certification
On successful completion of assessment, delegates will be awarded with a SCQF accredited Level 5 Award (RQF Level 2 in England) in First Aid for Mental Health. The certificate is valid for 3 years from date of issue. Delegates can choose to attend optional annual refresher training in order to remain up to date with current themes within mental health.
